Authentic vintage American grain sack from the early to mid 20th century. This heavy-duty canvas bag is stenciled Property of P. Duff & Sons Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and was originally used for transporting flour, grains, or other agricultural goods. Made by Bemis Bag Company and marked Bemis A Seamless Extra Heavy, this sack is an excellent example of durable American industrial textile history.
The bag is constructed from thick, seamless woven cotton and retains all original markings with natural age wear and character. These types of bags were reusable, and the stenciled ownership markings helped track them as they circulated between mills and buyers.
