Amazing Red Crown Gasoline Sign - Nebraska USA - made in the 1970s, US. In good used condition. Material is fiberglass.

Sign comes from the Red Crown Mini-Museum, downtown Lafayette - Indiana.

The gas station was built by the Standard Oil Company in 1927-28. Functioning as a petrol station until 1979, it was purchased in 1985 for the construction of a car park, but in 1991 a local businessman and collector offered to restore the petrol station. It now houses automobilia and petrol station memorabilia, mostly related to Standard and Red Crown petrol.

Red Crown Aviation Gasoline was used in 1927 by Charles Lindbergh to refuel his "Spirit of St Louis" aircraft for the New York-Paris flight.
